Koru Mindfulness Teacher
Juan Mendizabal
My goal as a leadership educator is to co-create communities invested in collective healing and real change. Influenced by the fields of counseling psychology, ecofeminism, and expressive arts, I lead with trauma-informed practices that humanize organizations and the people within them. “Humanizing” in this way makes space for authenticity, humor, and joy in the processes of our work, reminding us that the means are the ends.
I have held a range of roles in K-12, higher education, and non-profit settings over the last decade, utilizing facilitation and strategic planning skills to help organizations fulfill their potential. I consider leadership, social justice, and wellness education to be my specialties, and my work integrates all three regardless of my role’s primary emphasis. I currently practice these approaches in my director and facilitator roles with LeaderShape, Inc.
